Chantelivre

Chantelivre, founded in 1974 by the publishing house L'École des loisirs, is one of the first and most respected children's bookstores in France. Located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, it offers a 300 m² space entirely dedicated to books for children, teens, and adults. The store is organized into three main sections: Adult Section: Novels, nonfiction, comics, and manga. Youth Section: Books for independent readers aged 6 to 18. Early Childhood Section: For ages 0 to 6, with a cozy area for toddlers. One of its strong points is its personalized customer service. Staff are known for offering expert reading advice tailored to each age group. Chantelivre also houses the Maison des Histoires ("House of Stories"), a unique immersive experience for children aged 0–7. Half museum, half play space, it invites children to explore interactive story worlds based on beloved picture books.
