Charleston County Emergency Medical Services (CCEMS) provides prompt, efficient, and effective emergency medical care and transportation to the citizens of and visitors to the County of Charleston.
Responsibilities
Provide emergency lifesaving care to people who are seriously ill or injured
Transport patients to local hospital emergency departments
Operate ambulances and Quick Response Vehicles to support these services
Provide a variety of educational programs to the public on many safety issues
General Information
Charleston County Emergency Medical Services Department (CCEMS) is a county operated service that is the sole 9-1-1 EMS provider for Charleston County South Carolina. CCEMS is an Advanced Life Support 9-1-1 EMS provider. We respond to over 60,000 calls for service each year covering over 1,100 square miles with a rapidly expanding population and workforce.
