Chateau Castenet Overview

The Chateau Castenet is situated in Auriolles in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region, the Castenet estate was founded by the Greffier family in the 1850s. It was back then that the estate built the cement tanks we are still using today. In the mid 80s, having acquired the neighbouring chateau the estate grew from 15 to 23 hectares, before investing in a state of the art thermo regulated wine making cellar with stainless steel tanks. In 1996 the estate grew a further 7 hectares, before the arrival of Mylène and Guillaume to the estate in 2010, bringing with them a further 5 hectares. Today, the 35 hectare estate produces white wines on its 10 hectares of Entre-Deux-Mers appellation with Sauvignon Blanc and Gris, Semillon and Muscadelle. The remainder 25 hectares are split between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot producing red wines under the Bordeaux and Bordeaux Superieur appellations.
