Cheshire Autism Practical Support Ltd is a charity that supports autistic people and their families across Cheshire. We provide activities for children, teens and adults on the autism spectrum including kids and youth groups, swimming lessons, multisports sessions, trampolining and lots more! We have a thriving autistic adult community who are able to access a wide range of sessions such as meet ups, virtual mental health sessions, crafting clubs and walks.
We are commissioned by Cheshire ICB to deliver parent training to families with children that are both on the pathway and who are newly diagnosed. The training equips parents with knowledge of autism and builds a toolbox to empower them to help their children to navigate a neurotypical world.
We are also commissioned by Halton and Warrington ICBs to deliver a programme specifically for autistic adults. We have weekly sessions of our flagship programme, Learning4Life, which aims to further the wellbeing, social skills, life skills and independence of autistic adults over a period of 12 weeks. We also deliver a 6 week programme, Independence and Living Skills, which focusses on social skills, independence, managing finances and employability. We are also able to deliver 1:1 sessions through this commissioning which allow us to give support for specific tasks as well as weekly virtual mental health sessions.
Our premises in Northwich allow us to deliver activities, therapies and training rooms as well as housing our administrative base. We also have an autism friendly cafe as well as a sensory room which is available to use as part of a visit to the cafe, or for private hire.
