A&M Architecture’s client base is a “Who’s Who” of leading architecture firms and contractors which require a specialist engineering focus. The team at A&M Architecture are extremely experienced in all aspects of designing and installing stone staircases following their decades of work at Chesneys Architectural.
A&M Architecture continues to offer a concept to completion service spanning consultancy, design, procurement of unique stones, through to engineering and installation. The business’ primary focus is on traditional cantilevered staircases; to modern Post Tension free floating stairways; and includes sculptural architectonic handrails and balustrades, porticos, fountains and follies. A&M Architecture’s in-house structural and architectural engineers ensure visionary concepts become a reality.
Earlier in 2021, A&M Architecture completed the world’s largest spanning post tension staircase in Casa Batllo, the World Heritage/Unesco Museum dedicated to the work of Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona.
This juxtaposition of modern technology and ancient materials is the inspiration for the new company name of Ancient & Modern and A&M Architecture: the bridge between ancient stone-masonry skills, contemporary aesthetics and groundbreaking engineering.
