Founded in 2013, the Cheza Assciation is on a mission to redesign, rebrand, and globalize traditional African games—starting with Kwepena (ChezaDodge)—to create opportunities for youth empowerment, community development, and economic growth.

At Cheza, we believe that traditional African sports hold the key to social change, health, unity, and economic opportunities. Through our innovative approach, we transform these indigenous games into structured, competitive, and modern sports with professional rules, gameplay equipment, leagues, and international participation.

✅ Reviving Traditional African Sports
We research, document, and modernize indigenous African games like Kwepena (ChezaDodge), Omweso, Bladda, Duulu, Sonko, Tug of War, and Jump Rope, preserving Africa’s rich cultural heritage.
✅ ChezaDodge – Africa’s First International Traditional Sport
In partnership with the World Dodgeball Association, Cheza has secured global recognition for Kwepena (ChezaDodge) as a professional sport, working towards making it Africa’s first Olympic sport.
✅ Sports Diplomacy & Global Recognition
Through international tournaments and partnerships, we promote African sports worldwide. Cheza has been featured on BBC, Al Jazeera, VOA, CGTN, RFI and was hosted by the President of Uganda for its impact on sports development.
✅ Cheza Leagues & Tournaments
We host structured competitions, building player and fan engagement for traditional sports.
✅ Community Impact & Youth Empowerment
Cheza works with schools, universities, and communities to promote education, employment, and well-being through sports.

We produce game balls from recycled polythene, supporting sustainability and sports in underserved communities.
