CHI HAIRCARE is produced by Farouk Systems, Inc., a Houston-based company of hairdressers for hairdressers. We are known for manufacturing high-quality professional hair care products under the industry-leading brands: CHI® & BioSilk®. The company was founded in 1986 by Farouk Shami, a hairdresser whose mission is to provide the professional beauty industry with the most advanced American technology, with and for “Education, Environment and Innovation.”
Dr. Shami is the owner of 27 patents—creating the world’s first ammonia-free hair color. He was also the first to use silk proteins in the creation of the BioSilk Silk Therapy Line. In addition to his many innovations, Dr. Shami also invented the very first CHI Ceramic Hairstyling Iron. He is known for revolutionizing the hair industry with NASA technology while creating a safer and healthier work place and environment for both stylists and consumers.
Offering total hair solutions designed for every concern, CHI is keen on creating products suitable for everyone, which is why all of our products are sulfate, paraben, gluten & cruelty free. Additionally, all of our hair colors are free of harsh chemicals, such as ammonia and PPD. To add more to CHI’s safe ingredient list, all of our products range from 82% to 95% natural. Our hair treatment system, Enviro, is a much safer alternative to chemically-harsh treatments while simultaneously reducing up to 95% of frizz. Due to this innovative nature, many of our products are award-winners.
In Egypt, we give back to the community through our CHI Academy where we teach hairdressing techniques to those interested, providing opportunities for any individual to become certified hairdressers.
