About Chicago AHEC
The Chicago Area Health Education Center (AHEC), as a subsidiary of the National AHEC Organization (NAO), is a nonprofit organizational entity that Congress founded in 1971 —in order to recruit, train, and retain a health professions workforce that is committed to catering to the needs of underserved populations. Locally, within the Illinois AHEC Network, Chicago AHEC provides a link between needed health resources and local communities.
