VISION: The vision of CHIKITSA is to secure Health for All by ensuring access to quality and affordable primary health care. MISSION: The mission of CHIKITSA is to provide quality and free community-based primary health care in underserved communities. Chikitsa was started as a community health initiative in 1999 by General OP Malhotra, PVSM, at Sector 12, RK Puram, New Delhi, with a free clinic to serve nearby slum dwellers. After a token, one-time Rs. 10 charge for a patients' medical history booklet, all consultations and medicines are provided free. Chikitsa has base and satellite primary health care clinics at 11 locations in Delhi-NCR that follow the World Health Organization model of community-based primary health care aimed at achieving 'Health For All'. Our Base Clinic in Sector 40, Gurugram, operates since 2008 as a Public-Private Partnership with the Department of Health & Family Welfare Gurugram. In cooperation with Kiwanis Club of New Delhi, we also provide free artificial limb orthotics and prosthetics at our Base Clinic in Sector 40, Gurugram.
