About Child Loss @ Work

Child Loss @ Work, a service of the Child Loss Foundation, is an employer-sponsored benefit that guides the transition of an employee’s return to work after the death of a child. This unique workplace benefit aims to bring to the workplace more attention to and acknowledgment of parents’ grief. At a time when productivity and confidence may break down, Child Loss @ Work offers critical support to an employee in crisis. -On average, one out of every 1,000 employees will experience a loss in a year. -Grief in the workplace costs U.S. Employers over $75 billion a year. -A parent’s on-the-job productivity is impaired following the death of their child. They function at only 30% within the first 30 days and at 62% at 6 months. A service of the Child Loss Foundation, Child Loss @ Work was developed in 2019.
