The Department of Chemistry was established in 2012 in accordance with Article 10 of the Statute of the University of Turin and has as its main aims the organisation and promotion of research and teaching activities concerning the Chemical Sciences and related disciplines, considering both the basic aspects, experimental as well as theoretical, and the more specifically applied ones. To this end, while carefully respecting the initiatives of individuals and groups, the Department prepares a three-year activity plan to define the research areas of pre-eminent interest and provides facilities, services and equipment for the implementation of projects. The Department is also committed to fostering and promoting any collaboration with public and private, national and international entities, in order to create new synergies and finance innovative lines of research. The Department of Chemistry participates in the establishment, activation and management of all Courses of Study in which it is involved and contributes, in collaboration with the Doctoral Schools, to the organisation and management of Doctoral Courses, ensuring their necessary functioning. To this end, it is the Department's task to organise the teaching activities of its members on the basis of their specific expertise, while ensuring a correct and regulation-compliant load distribution.
