The China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association (also known as China P&I Club) is a full-service protection and indemnity club – a mutual not-for-profit marine insurer. We are proud to be a one-stop service for our membership, by offering P&I, H&M, FD&D, Charterers’ liability and war-risk insurance.
We have a significant presence in the Asian market, with our membership spanning across all ship-owning sectors. Our membership comprises the preeminent Chinese shipowners, including COSCO and China Merchants, and overall constitutes a relatively young and well-managed fleet of vessels. Whilst our focus is centred on the Asian market, we are making significant inroads internationally with recent entries from notable European owners, such as CMA CGM.
We have made steady and significant growth in recent years, with our present P&I entered tonnage coming just under the significant milestone of 100 million GT. This has coincided with AM Best providing us with a rating of A- (excellent). With the assistance of our Chinese (Shanghai, Beijing, Qingdao, Guangzhou and Hong Kong) and international (London and Singapore) offices we look forward to further growth and continuing to offer top-quality insurance provision.
