Chinar Yuva

Chinar YUVA Baramulla was inaugurated on 01 April 2016. It was established with a view to focus on skill development of the youth and providing them placements so that they can form part of the main stream. It focuses on enhancing the quality of life for individuals within a community by addressing various issues and promoting sustainable development. The centre is typically focused on empowering local residents, promoting social and economic development, and enhancing the overall well-being of the community. In the entire valley, Chinar YUVA Baramulla is the only Centre of its kind which is certified by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The Centre selects the youth, identifies the domain based on aptitude and skills. It also exposes them to the industry and makes them ready for their employment. Chinar YUVA Baramulla hosts many educational programs, workshops, and training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of community members. This can include literacy programs, job training, and workshops on various topics. The situation in the valley deteriorated after 2015, which witnessed the youth getting involved in stone-pelting activities and open protests against the government and Armed Forces. To dissuade the youth from such activities, various options were thought. One such activity is the constructive involvement of youth under a skill development program, which will not only engage them fruitfully but will also provide them employment avenues both inside and outside of the valley.
