Chinko is located in the east of the Central African
Republic and covers an area of 55,000 km², including
a core conservation zone of 24,300 km². The
protected area is managed by the NGO African Parks
in partnership with the Central African government.
In 2020, this partnership was renewed for a further 25
years, with plans to develop a land-use plan,
leading to the creation of the Chinko National Park
and the development of a long-term integrated
conservation strategy to develop sustainable
livelihoods for local communities.
