Conveyance of Land Rights The Firm supports clients through the process of transferring ownership of land and real estate, ensuring a smooth and legally compliant transition of ownership rights. We assist clients from acquisition and registration to maintenance and usage rights. This process typically involves several steps, including assisting clients in drafting and signing a contract of sale, obtaining State Consent to Assign (permission from the Government to sell State Land), paying Property Transfer Tax to the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA), lodging the Deed of Assignment with the Lands and Deeds Registry, and securing a Certificate of Title. Conveyance of Mineral Rights The Firm assists clients in the purchase or sale of rights related to the exploration and extraction of minerals from designated areas. In Zambia, mineral rights can be separate from surface rights, meaning one may own the land but not the minerals beneath it, or vice versa. We prominently assist clients in buying or selling mining rights, which in Zambia may be granted through various licenses, including exploration licenses, mining licenses, and small-scale mining licenses.
