About Christmas Care Project

Led by high school students and community volunteers, the Christmas Care Project strives to break society’s indifference towards the unhoused. Through the direct distribution of homemade meals, care packages, and non-perishable donations to the unhoused community of Downtown Toronto, we provide temporary hunger alleviation while presenting an opportunity for our volunteers to give back and learn more about the unhoused crisis. Additionally, all of our deliveries include handwritten notes by our volunteers along with a list of local resources, shelters, and food banks for help. Our delivery date for this year will be during the Christmas break (December 23 - 30), gathering 40+ volunteers to distribute 200+ meals and care packages to the unhoused. As a personal project that supports the unhoused, we know that a little bit of kindness and generosity can go a very long way (especially during the winter holidays). Ultimately, the Christmas Care Project works to eliminate social stigmas around homelessness and encourage everyday citizens to get involved. Our mission is to help drive systemic change in youth and make our community a more equitable place for everyone :)
