Christopher's Promise

Christopher's Promise is a grass-root, non-profit initiative to provide children with special circumstances with the proper adaptive equipment, which was inspired by a teenager facing the challenges with Neurofibromatosis, Cerebral Palsy and Optic giloma. I see during our bike giveaways the positive impact Christopher's Promise has on the lives of the children we serve. Christopher was fifteen years of age before he was able to ride a bicycle for the first time in his life. In an effort to provide children like Christopher with the same hallmark childhood memories, a promise was made. After realizing circumstances like this exist, Christopher's Promise aims at making the typical childhood experiences accessible to all children. Christopher's Promise has partnered with Road Runner Sports and their grant funding division - Athletes Helping Athletes, roll: Bikes, Keen Footwear, HOBY Youth and more. We are beginning our third year and to date have provided over 40 children in the central Ohio area with their first bikes. As we grow our movement we are looking for opportunities to spread our word and mission, all in an effort in Helping Kids, be Kids.
