CHROMA consulting

Marianne-Coquelicot Mercier was first drawn to textile circularity issues in 2010. She devoted herself to the arduous process of creating a novel industrial non-woven fabric made from recycled fibers sorted by color, known as CHROMA felts. Initially an entrepreneurial project, it evolved into a research initiative that eventually led Marianne to work in applied research at the graduate level, and in teaching at the Université de Montréal. Drawing from her experience, the trust of her partners and her network of contacts, she founded CHROMA consulting in 2020, a strategic consulting firm specializing in circular economy for the textile industry. The firm fosters collaboration between academic, government, textile manufacturers, fashion companies, and social economy organizations to mobilize stakeholders and break down sector barriers. Leveraging expertise in textile material and processes, as well as circular economy strategies, CHROMA consulting undertakes projects in applied research, feasibility studies, pilot projects, textile characterization, and eco-designed products. It also offers tailored training for businesses and academic institutions. The firm has forged strong partnerships with renowned Québec-based organizations such as CTTÉI, Comité 21, Synergie Québec, and with Fashion Takes Action in Toronto. Clients include Soprema, Loop Industries, Regitex, Vêtements SP, Groupe Ranger, Club Tissus, Next Chance, and Recyclo-Centre. In September 2023, the team was expanded with the addition of Maxime Saint-Denis, who brings expertise in post-consumer textiles and socio-economic issues. Maxime has a background in fashion design, entrepreneurship, and industrial design. She worked at Synergie Bas-Saint-Laurent, and completed a masters degree in Environmental Management at the University of Sherbrooke.
