We are a small family-owned business, specialising in the delivery of low-volume, high-quality products and services to a wide customer base, from the consumer to academia to industry. Our team comprises highly skilled engineers and scientists who, between us, have experience in machining, optical engineering, signal processing, remote sensing, biomechanical engineering, mechanical testing, electron microscopy, metallurgy, condensed matter physics and more.
We strive for synergy between the scientific method and the practical realisation of our products. In relevant cases, we take the time to finish and assemble all of the components of a product by hand, including deburring and polishing to ensure the finest quality possible. We work to very close tolerances, typically much closer than those specified in industry mass-manufacture.
For products with a wood element, all woodworking and joinery is completed by hand almost exclusively using only hand tools, providing that artisanal aspect. In addition to this, if one of our products does not quite meet the customer’s requirements, we make every effort accommodate these with bespoke alterations. On the other end of the spectrum, we are able to design and construct small to medium electro-mechanical or pure mechanical systems for research institutions, including custom PCBs.
