About château de Coppet

Remaining for nine generations in the same family, the castle of Coppet was the home of Jacques Necker, minister of the King of France Louis XVI and his daughter Germaine de Staël. Exiled by Napoleon, Germaine de Staël made Coppet the salon of Europe, home of intellectual and liberal opposition to the Empire. The castle preserves the living memory of its illustrious inhabitants, in a romantic setting, with its collections of art objects, signed furniture and paintings by masters. The castle is open from 1 April to 31 October, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 14:00 to 18:00. All tours are guided. Visits outside opening hours possible, by reservation. The prestigious setting of the castle lends itself naturally to the organization of your private or professional events, weddings, reception, cocktails, seminars or concerts and exhibitions. These events can take place all year round in the four rooms of the wings of the castle, in its cellars or in its romantic park. Receptions : receptions@chateaudecoppet.ch
