The Canadian Institute for Near East Studies (CIFNES) was founded in December 2019. The CIFNES is an independent non-profit and non-governmental and non-partisan organization based in Ottawa-Ontario. It was founded as an initiative by academics and activists to increase awareness of the Near East amongst the Canadian academicians as well as to promote a better understanding between the peoples of these two areas in the light of Archaeology and Historical studies.
