The Center for Integrative Genomics, founded in 2005, is a department of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne.
It unites about 200 members doing fundamental research on different topics such as the structure and function of genomes and their evolution, the regulation of gene expression, or the genomics of complex functions.
Education at the different level of the academic cursus is an important aim of the Center, and about 80 of its members are young scientists at the predoctoral or postdoctoral stage.
The CIG is strongly associated with other departments of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine and with its core facilities, in particular the new Department of Computational Biology, the Genomic Technologies Facility and the Proteomic Analysis Facility.
