About CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems) is a global community committed to the collaborative development and sharing of power systems expertise which has established as a permanent non-governmental and non-profit-making International association based in France. CIGRE Iran is a National Committee that recognized by the Administrative Council of CIGRE that it was formed to provide a mechanism for Iranian experts to participate in CIGRE’s international cooperative efforts. This community of experts is building value by leveraging the CIGRE global network to empower its organization with the know-how needed to meet Iran’s challenging market and geographic environment. CIGRE across the world with over 15,000 of community of power system professionals in 90 countries are taking time out from their jobs and volunteering their efforts to collaboratively share their knowledge and experiences for facing new challenges and the greater good of the power industry. This community is underpinned by a network of 60 regional organizations referred to as National Committees in the world. CIGRE is composed of researchers, academics, engineers, technicians, suppliers, and other decision makers, and is supported by experts actively collaborating in a structured work programme and CIGRE Iran provides a gateway to join the 250+ Working Groups participating in CIGRE’s global knowledge programmes. Over the last 100 years the work of CIGRE has contributed many of the key technical cornerstones and challenges of the modern power system. Whether it’s managing ageing assets, exploring ways to reduce network costs or planning for the network of the future, CIGRE is empowering teams with the latest, most relevant know-how and innovations. CIGRE’s publications, developed through the collaborative sharing, are in many cases the authoritative source of reference information in power industries.
