Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE)

The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) was established in January 2012 as a center that specializes in Islamic legislation and ethical thought with a focus on applied ethics in the fields of methodology, arts, environment, economics, education, food, gender, media, bioethics, migration & human rights, politics, and psychology. In line with its aim to serve a diverse global audience of experts, activists, practitioners, students, and common people, over the past decade CILE has hosted a variety of intellectual and interdisciplinary programs from seminars, to summer schools, to international conferences, and more, and has engaged in numerous funded research projects, seminars, and conferences around the world in its efforts to address contemporary universal issues and challenges from a contextualized Islamic ethical lens. Located in Doha, Qatar, CILE is affiliated with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and serves as an integral part of the College of Islamic Studies (CIS).
