Cincinnati Language Services Cooperative (CLSC)

The Cincinnati Language Services Cooperative (CLSC) is a worker-owned cooperative whose mission is to ensure that all members of the community have full access to participation in its social, economic, political, and spiritual life, regardless of the language they speak. We provide high-quality interpretation and translation services to local organizations, particularly worker and immigrant rights groups and social justice organizations, while ensuring our interpreters and translators receive a dignified wage for the services they provide. The owners of the cooperative are highly skilled interpreters and translators with over a decade of experience, specifically in the areas of labor rights and immigration law, in addition to medical and educational interpreting and translating. Unlike most interpretation and translation services in Cincinnati, CLSC ensures that worker-owners are paid a dignified wage. While others take as much as 60% of payment for services, all CLSC interpreters and translators keep 80% of all payment, and all members are a part of the voting processes of the cooperative.
