Cirasys, Inc. is a spinout from The University of Texas at Dallas with funding from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund and SBIR grants from the National Science Foundation to commercialize new control methods for power conversion.
Using feedback linearization and nonlinear control techniques, Cirasys has created control methods that have superior performance to the classical controls (PID, Type 2, 3) used for decades by the power industry and deliver entirely new capabilities that existing, traditional power converters cannot. Cirasys provides the technology to customers as firmware in digitally-controlled power converters and modules, technology licensing, system integration, and in designed converters in analog or digital implementation.
Cirasys new conversion capabilities include:
Load Capacitance Independence: converters can now operate independently of changing or varying capacitance levels, and enables easier module installation into systems with different levels of capacitance.
Envelope Tracking: boost converter that follows varying input signals, delivering varying voltage output on demand for higher system efficiency (eliminates the voltage modulator normally required in other ET approaches).
High Speed High Performance Boost Converter: Fast, inherently stable boost converter with 30-40khz bandwidth and under 400microsecond response time for a 24V-48V stepload (12V input).
Applications for this unique power conversion approach include telecommunications, data centers, IT, wind & solar power generation, battery charging & management, Internet of Things, EVs and hybrids, micro- and nano-grid systems, medical, and consumer electronics.
