Recycling metals without the melting step – cutting over 95% of the energy consumption at 40-50% lower cost than conventional alternatives.
Nuvosil is developing a cutting-edge metal recycling based on the Low Energy Recycling (LER) technology. Compared to conventional recycling by remelting, Circmets solution uses a fraction of the energy consumption and close-to-no CO2 footprint on the material. The principle relies on plastic deformation of scrap materials without melting, eliminating metal losses, creating valuable products directly in a single step, without compromising on quality.
The LER process has been developed as a collaborative effort between Circmet and the German thermoplastic manufacturer Reifenhauser GmbH, among others. Additionally, SINTEF and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology have been involved as R&D partners throughout the development process.
