Rubber is an unmissable material and applied in almost all the products we use, from shoes to flipflops, from airplanes to electric bicycles. The footprint of rubber however is high due to the origin of raw materials and difficulty to recycle it.
The Circular Rubber Platform is making a circular rubber economy easy and accessible, by knowledge sharing, networking and fostering collaboration within the whole rubber industry. It presents solutions for rubber circularity (renewable and recovered raw materials and technologies) online and during meet-ups, and actively connects engineers, companies and universities.
This way we inspire product designers, engineers and academics with what is already possible and motivate companies to rethink their material usage within all rubbers family, for example biobased rubbers, or rubber made with recycled raw materials. Finally, we work in project groups to really close material loops, such as shoe-to-shoe recycling.
