FOUNDER
In 2005 David founded Teaopia, a premium loose-leaf tea store that quickly grew into a chain of 50 stores across Canada.
After selling his company in 2012, David realized that he never lost his passion for quality tea and retail.
David has launched CitizenTea with a focus on delivering premium loose leaf tea and a better shopping experience than what other online or traditional brick and mortar tea companies are offering.
CitizenTea sells over 100 varieties of premium loose-leaf teas and Wellness blends along with a select assortment of tea accessories.

Tea is grown in diverse regions of the world. Tea not only takes on the characteristics of the soil, water and fragrance of its surroundings but also the people who work the land. This is why we source tea exclusively from gardens where not only is nature pristine, but the people who work the gardens are treated with fairness and respect. Our flavoured teas are crafted with the principle of keeping the nuance of the tea while adding subtle flavouring, fruits, herbs and spices.
