Civilingeniør Benjamin Refsgaard is an engineering company within fields of environmental engineering and climate adaptation.
I graduated in Water and Environmental Engineering from Aalborg University in 2018 and have since been employed both as a consultant and at a utility company.
At Vejle Spildevand I work with hydraulic planning, and we carry out most of the planning work in-house. One of my focus areas is to combine my understanding of sewer systems with my competencies as a programmer. I do that by automating fixed workflows for such things as modeling of overflow from combined sewers, 2D flood calculations and quality assurance of hydraulic models in general. In this way, time is freed up to form a good planning basis for the construction phase.
I collaborate with developers of the hydraulic modeling software PCSWMM in order to adjust the program to meet the needs, which arises in the daily work. The collaboration is based on an open-source mindset, where tools are shared and are freely available to anyone interested.
