Approximately 400 million people in Africa have health insurance and more one billion medical claims are processed in the region every year. Virtually all of these claims are paper based, and the burden of paperwork is leaving many hospitals with millions of unsettled claims and insurance companies stretched to the limits.
ClaimSync offers hospitals and health insurers in Africa a platform that allows them to prepare, submit and receive electronic medical claims. Our goal is to eliminate the inefficiencies associated with paper claims and help improve healthcare through technology in Africa.
The company was founded and incorporated in August 2011 by four graduates of the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology - Seth Akumani, Ebenezer Nubuor, Isaac McSey and Emmanuel Addo-Yirenkyi. From February to May 2013, ClaimSync participated in HealthXL, an accelerator program for health startups and are poised to lead the change from paper records and claims to electronic records.
