Clare Maddicott Publications was acquired by Abacus Cards Ltd in May 2008 from founding owners Clare & Richard Maddicott, who established the company in 1993. The company had built a reputation for vibrant, colourful, quality cards, based, in the early days on artwork created solely by Clare Maddicott. Latterly other artists were commissioned, including Linda Edwards; who still is a major contributor of material today.
Since the purchase, the company has gone from strength to strength and has expanded its portfolio of contributing artists to offer an even greater selection of art led greeting cards and associated products. Today we supply our cards to many different retailers from major multiples to small independents with the help of our nationwide team of territory sales managers. We also supply our cards overseas across numerous countries worldwide and now via this website can offer our products direct to the consumer.
