Throughout my career, I've been fascinated by the intersection between the "people side" and the "business side" of organizations. As Zig Ziglar famously said, "You don't build a business. You build people, and then people build the business." This philosophy is the backbone of my passion and the driving force behind my work. I’ll be graduating with my MBA this Fall, with the main goal of being able to better communicate to executives that the "people side" of business directly impacts the bottom line and should not be dismissed as “the fluffy stuff.” Previously, I had the privilege of working at Brave Leaders Inc., Brené Brown's company, where I assisted in bringing her groundbreaking research on vulnerability, courage, and authentic leadership to corporations. I also supported her during the writing process of her book, "Dare to Lead," which explores how embracing vulnerability and leading with courage can transform teams and organizational cultures. In my consulting practice, I draw upon my natural beliefs in the principles of "Dare to Lead" and utilize the Birkman personality assessment, a powerful tool that helps individuals gain deep insights into their unique personalities, motivations, and behaviors. The Birkman is remarkably comprehensive, delving into areas such as interests, usual behavior, needs, and stress behaviors. By understanding these facets, individuals can unlock their full potential, build better relationships, and make more informed decisions. For teams and organizations, Birkman provides invaluable insights into team dynamics, communication styles, and conflict resolution strategies. By understanding the diverse personalities within a team, we can foster better collaboration, improve decision-making processes, and create a more harmonious and productive work environment. This aligns with Brené Brown's teachings on building trust, practicing vulnerability, and embracing diverse perspectives – all crucial elements for strong, cohesive teams.
