What is Family Medicine all about? Family Physician/GP at the core. Your GP is the “main contractor” who has the bulk of the relationship with the patient and if other specialized care is required, will be referred to as a “sub-contractor”. Nobody likes to find their own subcontractors to fix every little part of their house. Patient Centered Care. The patient is at the core of the services, we exist because of the patient. Support and supplement the good work of private GP clinics. Share allied health resources to better service our patients. Share best practices and training resources. Vision Use family medicine as a tool for great benefit for our population. Family medicine has great potential to bring better health for all at a very affordable price, if applied deliberately and with good intentions. The sands of time have passed, and the old ideals of family medicine might not be relevant anymore. We have to redefine ourselves to be relevant for the future else we be swept away by the changing times; replaced by robots. 2) Solidarity Most importantly, we must have solidarity in our commitments to improving patient safety and health advocacy. 3）Improving healthcare delivery The time has come when technology and many things have come within reach of the family physician at a relatively low cost. The time has come to put all these in place and improve patient outcomes by the leaps and bounds in your neighbourhood GP.
