Classical Education Forum

The Classical Education Forum, ‘The University in the Community’, has been providing a range of adult education courses for the last twelve years. The courses are written and delivered by experts in their own field. The courses are challenging and mind-stretching and subject areas include Archaeology; Art History; Ancient, British, Modern and World History; Classical Studies; Egyptology; Literature Studies, and Ancient and Modern Languages. The emphasis is on learning for enjoyment therefore there is no accreditation; the courses are designed to extend knowledge and to learn something new in order to help keep these subjects relevant in the modern world. Students study courses over a number of weeks either for an hour or a Day School and some courses include a field trip. CEF courses change each academic term. CEF strives to extend its reach to as large a community as possible and therefore our courses can be accessed from around the world via Zoom. Otherwise, you can attend at our local Centre in Roath, Cardiff where there is always a warm welcome for all students. CEF welcomes students from any educational background who wish to extend themselves and meet like-minded people.
