About Clean Transportation Network

The Clean Transportation Network (CTN) is a national nonprofit organization formed by and for the leaders of coalitions in the U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities & Communities (CC&C) partnership. These more than 75, independent, locally rooted coalitions cover 93% of the U.S. population and have served as trusted implementers of clean transportation technologies for over 30 years—reducing greenhouse gas emissions, building local capacity, and advancing public-private partnerships across urban, rural, and tribal regions. Together, this partnership drives deep, community-centered climate progress in the transportation sector—the largest source of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. While CC&C coalitions are responsible for boots-on-the-ground implementation—including technical assistance, public outreach, stakeholder engagement, and deployment of clean transportation infrastructure—CTN amplifies their impact through national coordination, operational support, and resource development. This includes the creation of professional, nationally branded education and awareness campaigns that help coalitions educate their local stakeholders on the benefits of alternative fuels, electric vehicles, and other low or zero emission vehicle technologies and practices.
