Cliffemount will be a newly developed hotel, pub and restaurant and we’re proud to say, we're aiming for it to be the UK’s first hotel to receive Passivhaus accreditation.
We're working hard to obtain this accreditation because as a family, we truly care about our impact. Plus, we want our guests to not only enjoy their stay with us because of the experience but feel peace knowing their impact on the environment is minimal.
Inspired by the local area and community, we’re developing Cliffemount in a way that means no matter the direction you look, you can appreciate something different about the picturesque village of Runswick.
Couple this with the fact it will boast 20 sea-view rooms, including family and pet friendly rooms, it's destined to become an ideal location for both long and short coastal getaways.
So why Runswick Bay? Having spent many years as a family in Runswick Bay, it became one of our favourite places to go. When we heard the former Cliffemount Hotel was closing and listed for sale, we saw an opportunity to give something back by giving the hotel a new lease of life. However, we didn’t want to simply purchase and reopen the same hotel; we wanted to do more. More for the residents, more for the tourists and more for the environment. That’s why when we say Cliffemount will be more than just a place to stay, we mean it.
