Children's Literacy Foundation

Founded in 1998, the Children's Literacy Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Waterbury Center, VT. We create literacy experiences and opportunities that support success in life and learning for under-resourced children in New Hampshire and Vermont. We work with over 40 professional authors, illustrators, graphic novelists, storytellers and poets to provide interactive in-person visits to sites including schools, libraries, community centers, correctional facilities, after-school programs, summer camps, childcare centers, and more. Throughout the calendar year, we host hundreds of events, and give away many thousands of brand-new books to deserving young readers.
