Founded in 2003, the Climate Hazards Center conducts critical climate research and data development for drought early warning and climate prediction. CHC was founded to provide support to the Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) to protect the world's most vulnerable regions and people.
We work alongside other partners including US Geological Survey (USGS), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
