Climate Dialogue Peshawar (CLADO) – a pioneering initiative dedicated to addressing the pressing challenges of climate change in the region of Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. As one of the most vulnerable countries to the impacts of climate change, Pakistan faces an urgent need for comprehensive action, and Climate Dialogue Peshawar is at the heart of this action.
At Climate Dialogue Peshawar, we employed a three-tiered strategy of "Aware, Engage, and Foster Dialogue" to tackle the multifaceted dimensions of the climate crisis. Our mission is to raise awareness, engage communities, and facilitate meaningful dialogue to drive positive change and build resilience against climate change impacts.
Through a series of targeted initiatives, we aimed to equip individuals, especially the youth, with the knowledge and tools necessary to understand and address climate change. We conducted awareness sessions in schools, develop educational resources in multiple languages, and create engaging multimedia content to reach wider audiences.
Furthermore, we fostered active engagement through various competitions, including photography, videography, poster design, and arts, encouraging creative expression and youth participation in climate action.
Central to our efforts is the promotion of dialogue and collaboration among diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, corporate entities, civil society organizations, academia, and international development partners. Our dialogue forums bring together experts, activists, policymakers, and community leaders to discuss pressing issues such as corporate social responsibility, water scarcity, disaster preparedness, agriculture, and more.
