Clinical Document Engineering

Clinical Document Engineering (CDE) is a company that offers solutions and services for all the phases of the clinical document life cycle. The entrepreneurship team is composed by Jaime Delgado, Martí Pàmies and Josep Vilalta. We are a multidisciplinary team with more than 25 years’ experience in information and communications technology projects in the area of health. Thanks to this experience, and to a strong initial effort in the development of software components, the company starts with a differentiating feature with respect to other “start-ups”: a running technology (with an improvements’ plan in place) and a customers’ portfolio already in Trial phase. All of these will allow us a faster growth speed. We have developed OpenCDE, a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) solution independent from any Health Care Information System. It provides services for digital archive, custody, access and structuring of clinical documents, according to HL7 CDA - ISO 27932 standard, in a safe and confidential way. OpenCDE achieves: 1 Sharing clinical information between Health Organizations, Patients and Professionals duly authorized, through a collaborative space that enables continuous improvement of care. 2 Structuring clinical documents, compliant with HL7 CDA standard, starting from plain documents provided by Healthcare Organizations' systems. 3 Coding medical reports using multilingual terminology standards. 4 Storing and safekeeping clinical documents, applying the security, privacy and confidentiality rules established at international and state level by health care organizations and patients. 5 Generating alerts, reminders and advice, in order to avoid claims and to make professionals' clinical practice more agile and safe. 6 Providing access to clinical information from any "Patient Point of Care", even using mobile devices.
