CLOS DE CAILLE

Located in Entrecasteaux, at the heart of the Côtes de Provence appellation, Clos de Caille is a vineyard undergoing organic conversion, with a limited production that prioritizes excellence. Founded in the 12th century by the Cistercian monks of Thoronet Abbey, who also built Cîteaux Abbey in Burgundy; vines have been cultivated on this land for centuries. Since the 2021 vintage, Clos de Caille has been revitalized under the guidance of the Mariotti family, who work diligently to unveil the generosity of this unique terroir through their efforts. Over the centuries, the geological complexity of the clay-limestone soils, intersected by a limestone vein, combined with a Mediterranean microclimate characterized by significant thermal variations at 200 meters altitude, has provided this exceptional terroir with the optimal conditions for producing eminent wines. We are committed to sustainable viticulture for our wines. Believing that a great wine is 80% made in the vineyard – with vinification merely revealing its potential, we have decided to invest in the future by ensuring the genetic diversity of our vines. The Mariotti family's ambition is to make their wines the best ones in Provence. Every effort is made to achieve it. The 30 hectares of vineyards are pampered, and the wines are crafted by renowned Cahors oenologist Mathieu Cosse, featuring a new underground cellar designed by acclaimed architect, Rudy Ricciotti.
