Clothes Box Foundation (CBF), a not-for-profit organisation was launched in Gurugram in February 2014. Our mission is to clothe as many less-fortunate individuals affected as possible, by the lack of proper clothing by providing them clean and hygienic clothes, and thus help reduce the number of related deaths and illnesses. While donating clothes is deeply satisfying, there’s always the niggling apprehension that they won’t reach the right destination. By letting donors actually see the recipients’ via Facebook photograph tagging, Clothes Box Foundation solves the problem with joyful simplicity - giving many more donors the confidence to come forward and support the cause, and paving the way for nothing short than a ‘social revolution’. Clothes Box Foundation’s Vision is simple: “Clean clothing for all.” And our Mission remains steadfast: To provide clean clothes to those who need them through transparent methods using the latest digital technologies and social media. In our endeavour to expand our donor network, we have entered into a long term partnership with a logistics company. Now, clothes can be donated from 9,000+ pin codes across India, right from the donor’s doorstep. The clothes received, first undergo stringent quality checks. Acceptable clothes (roughly 80%) are sorted, segregated and then dry-cleaned by our laundry partners. These clothes are finally dispatched and distributed. The rejected clothes are not wasted but are recycled and refurbished as blanket and cushion fillers which are donated to animal welfare organizations. Over the next 3 years, CBF’s mission is to provide clean clothes to 2.25 Lakh less-fortunate individuals in the poorest villages across India through strategic partnerships with Corporates under the ‘Community Outreach Program’. Organizations such as Marriott Hotels,Ginger Hotels, The Oberoi Hotels, Emaar, and NGOs like Kosish - The Hospice have partnered to help CBF in its endeavour.
