CloudDBAppliance Project

The CloudDBAppliance project started in the end of 2016 under the H2020 program and is being developed by a European consortium, composed of 11 partners from 6 countries: France, Spain, United Kingdom, Italy, Greece and Portugal. The CloudDBAppliance is coordinated by Bull (France), and partners include INESC TEC (INESC Technology and Science), in Portugal, LeanXcale and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, in Spain, ActiveViam, in the United Kingdom, BTO and Wind Tre, in Italy, and IKEA, CloudBiz and SingularLogic, in Greece. The project aims at producing a European Cloud Database Appliance for providing a Database as a Service able to match the predictable performance, robustness and trustworthiness of on premise architectures such as those based on mainframes. The project will evolve cloud architectures to enable the increase of the uptake of cloud technology by providing the robustness, trustworthiness, and performance required for applications currently considered too critical to be deployed on existing clouds. This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 732051.
