About ClutterPuck - Hockey the Write Way

Cal Clutterbuck heavily influenced our love for Minnesota Wild hockey because we loved the way he played the game of hockey in the National Hockey League. He played & competed hard every time he got on the ice for the Minnesota Wild and he still does that as a member of the New York Islanders after being traded in the offseason of 2013 for Nino Niederreiter and a 3rd-round pick (Eamon McAdam). He's a grinder-type player but, at 5'11, 216lbs, he brought a physicality to the game that we fell in love with from the start. He led the NHL in hits for 3 straight seasons (2008-9 to 2010-11) and nobody has more hits since he entered the league on October 28th, 2007 and he only played 2 games that season as of January 6th, 2020. Some might call him a pest because of his physicality but that's part of hockey. Make the defense pay every chance you get by being physical on them. We loved how he did it, too. He hits but he also will try to get a player off-balance by using his arms to push them off the puck. Brian Burke has one of the great definitions of the body check: "...hitting is designed to separate a player from the puck, primarily, and secondarily, to discourage enthusiastic participation by that player in the later part of the game." Cal is one of the best at it and all of this inspired us to coin the phrase "Bring The Clutter Every Day in Every Way" which means to bring the hard work and all-out effort every chance you get. So...The Clutter is why we do what we do and that is Hockey...the Write Way!
