The Center for Scientific Research and Middle East Strategic Studies was established in February 1988 in Tehran. This Center is the first institute in Iran that has focused its studies and research on the various aspects of the Middle East. From an academic point of view, creating such a specialized center was highly necessary since the Middle East is the most immediate and significant geographic, historical, cultural, and security region relevant to Iran's national interests. The Center is a United Nations registered NGO.
