The Center for Non-Proliferation Studies (CNP) was established in 2024 with the aim of enhancing the understanding of the role played by non-proliferation and strategic trade in Chile's national security and economic development.
The center was founded as a response to the existing gap in Chile when it comes to studying phenomena that impact international security from a civil society perspective. We strive to serve as a conduit between organizations, international governments, industry, and the Chilean government to initiate projects, foster dialogue, and conduct research in this field.
Our primary goal is to influence, assist, and raise awareness by promoting public debate and innovation in security, in support of both public and private efforts to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, nuclear security, and the trade of dual-use goods and technologies.
We firmly believe that engaging seasoned practitioners and experts, who possess extensive knowledge and firsthand experience in non-proliferation, is crucial to empowering civil society to play a vital role in national and international security.
The CNP is led by a core team of specialists, who receive support from collaborators in both the public and private sectors.
