L’Istituto di Geologia Ambientale e Geoingegneria del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche nasce a Roma nel 2001 dalla fusione di cinque precedenti Istituti operanti in vari campi della geologia, dell’ingegneria, della chimica e della geochimica realizzando così l’integrazione di competenze tipiche delle scienze della Terra, dell’ingegneria geotecnica e mineraria e della chimica ambientale.
