About CO2ConferenceTX
The CO2 Conference was initiated in 1995. Steve Melzer was Director at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and helped organize the first of what is now the 30th Annual CO2 Conference dedicated to CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery and now grown to include all matters CO2 including carbon capture and storage (CCS). The speakers and attendees over the years could best be called CO2 practitioners, busy with all aspects of CO2 handling. In 2002, the interest in what has been called CCUS was beginning. The "U" is utilization where emitted CO2 is captured, converted to a commodity and used to make a product, the most common product being a low or carbon neutral barrel of oil. Much is happening in the CO2 EOR and CCUS space these days and this year's conference will emphasize why and where the project activity is growing. If you want to rub shoulders with the folks working in the space, office or field, it will be the place to be. Check it out at www.CO2Conference.net and note especially the Wednesday event where all that field CO2 experience will be reviewed and on display as the designs, risks and practices of 40+ years of CO2 handling are discussed in a day long short course agenda.
