About Code 4 Change NZ Charitable Trust
Code 4 Change NZ Charitable Trust (C4CNZCT) is dedicated to transforming the digital education landscape by offering equitable access to high-quality, culturally relevant, and mana-enhancing coding education. We integrate the Whare Tapa Whā model: Taha Wairua (Spiritual): Nurturing cultural pride and identity through digital creation. Taha Hinengaro (Mental): Developing problem-solving skills and critical thinking. Taha Tinana (Physical): Ensuring a comfortable and accessible learning environment. Taha Whānau (Family): Involving whānau and community in the learning journey. Our approach embodies the principles of: - Whakamana: Empowering ākonga with essential digital skills. - Whanaungatanga: Building strong relationships within the school community. - Kaitiakitanga: Fostering responsible digital citizenship. - Manaakitanga: Providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Key benefits of our partnership include: 1. Free, on-site coding education: We offer an 'Hour of Code' to all children at no cost to our qualifying (Equity Index 6-10) Primary schools in South Auckland for the whole academic year. 2. Culturally responsive curriculum: Our programs integrate Te Ao Māori principles and Pacific cultural values, aligning strongly with a bicultural and multicultural focus. 3. Support for your digital literacy strategy: Our services can enhance existing digital learning initiatives, including robotics programs. 4. Mana-enhancing approach: We focus on elevating the mana of each student, fostering their growth in digital knowledge and skills. 5. Alignment with New Zealand Curriculum: Our program supports the NZ Digital Literacies and Technology curriculum for Primary Schools, focusing on computational thinking and designing digital outcomes.
